Women in Policing Night at TNPS: Inspiring Careers, Building Connections

The Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service (TNPS) proudly hosted Women in Policing Night, an event dedicated to encouraging Nation women to explore careers in law enforcement and beyond. The goal was to highlight the diverse opportunities available at TNPS, not just in uniformed roles, but also in civilian positions that are vital to the success of the service.

The event was designed to be an informative and welcoming experience. Attendees had the opportunity to meet with officers and staff, ask questions, and learn about the different job roles within TNPS. To ensure a well-rounded understanding of career possibilities, we set up interactive tables showcasing various positions, from frontline policing to administrative support, finance, communications, and IT.

Dinner was served, creating a comfortable and relaxed setting for discussions. The evening also featured a presentation on the role of women in law enforcement, addressing common challenges, career growth opportunities, and the unique strengths that women bring to policing. A guided tour of TNPS facilities allowed attendees to see firsthand where and how officers and staff work every day.

Events like this are important because they break down barriers and provide real insight into the world of policing. Representation matters, and TNPS is committed to fostering a workforce that reflects the community it serves. Women bring unique perspectives and skills to law enforcement, enhancing problem-solving, community engagement, and leadership within the service.

For those who attended it was about seeing how their skills, strengths, and values could align with policing. Whether considering a role as an officer or in one of TNPS’s essential civilian positions, the night was about opportunity, empowerment, and connection.

TNPS is dedicated to supporting women who are interested in law enforcement careers. If you couldn’t attend Women in Policing Night, but want to learn more about opportunities within TNPS, we encourage you to reach out. There are many ways to serve and protect the community, and we’re here to help you find the right path.  We’re currently planning another Women in Policing session, for those who could not make this one.
