Tsuut’ina Nation, AB – In the early morning hours of June 20, 2025, officers from the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service (TNPS) were dispatched to the Grey Eagle Hotel following reports of two individuals in possession of a sawed-off shotgun and another carrying a machete.
Given the high-risk nature of the situation, police took immediate action to secure the area. Nearby hotel rooms were evacuated as a precaution, and officers locked down the floor where the individuals were believed to be located.
A total of eight individuals were arrested without incident. During the operation, officers seized:
- One sawed-off shotgun
- One large machete
- Bear spray
- Several balaclavas (ski masks)
The investigation remains ongoing, and further updates may follow as charges are reviewed.
Police can confirm that none of the individuals arrested are members of the Tsuut’ina Nation.
